A Study into Care-Experienced Students in Higher Education

EPIC is working in partnership with the TU Dublin Access and Outreach Service to carry out a research project on care-experienced young people who have pursued higher education in Ireland. This research is being undertaken by Dr. Merike Darmody, a Research Officer at the Economic and Social Research Institute.

Researchers are currently investigating the key factors that lead to care-experienced students accessing and completing higher education, as well as examining the reasons why some could not access or complete their higher education course. Through participative research and consultations, we aim to gain valuable insights into how to improve access, retention, and success rates for care-experienced students in Ireland.
