SUSI Grants

SUSI grant SUSI offer support to eligible students in approved, full-time courses and part-time courses at PLC, undergraduate and postgraduate levels by way of maintenance grants and/or a grant towards course fees. Find out more on the SUSI website.

Bursary

Tusla and DCEDIY also provide a Bursary Scheme for young people with care experience of at least 6 months who are over 18. See Education and Training Bursary Scheme for Care Experienced Young People for more information!

Back to Education Allowance

The back to education allowance is an education scheme for people in receipt of certain social welfare payments who wish to pursue a full-time second level or third level course of education. Find out more and check if you are eligible via the Citizen’s Information website.

Access College

The HEAR Scheme is a higher education admissions scheme for Leaving Certificate students whose economic or social background are underrepresented in higher education.

The DARE Scheme A higher education admissions scheme for Leaving Certificate students whose disabilities have had a negative impact on their second level education.

Further Education and Training

FET offers a wide variety of education options to anyone over 16. FET includes apprenticeships, traineeships, Post Leaving Cert (PLC) courses, community and adult education as well as core literacy and numeracy services. Learn more at the FET Course Hub.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeship is a programme of structured education and training which formally combines and alternates learning in the workplace with learning in an education or training centre.
